Carmelo Anthony

So as I’m following all this Melo trade talk I’m really starting to question Melo and the Knicks. First off what are the Knicks thinking trading away 4 players (3 that are key parts to their team) and a first round draft pick only to get Billups and Anthony. Billups career is going to be over pretty soon. Why trade away good young players just for one player basically? I don’t understand why they’re even considering doing this because Melo is going to be a free agent this off-season anyway so why even give up all those assets.
If Melo really wants to go play in the “Big Apple” he should be willing to wait until l next year. If he joins that team the way they are now, they’ll have a legitimate chance at winning a championship. That offense will be the best offense in the League hands down. But everything takes time though. I’m not going to jump to saying that they will win an instant championship. But with the lineup they have now plus an addition of Carmelo Anthony i seriously think you’ll have to put them in the championship talk with the other powers of the NBA.
If Melo really wants to contend in this league he should be willing to wait. Even if he gets traded to the Nets; you don’t have to sign an extension with them. I know he said he doesn’t just want to be a rental but we all know he wants to play for the Knicks. I know he’s from Brooklyn and all but even those kids from there loved the Knicks more than they loved the Nets.(At least over the past 20-30 years).

They have great young talent:

Landry Fields- Fields is having a great year. If Blake Griffin didn’t get hurt last year he’d be the rookie of the year no question. He makes all the hustle plays for that team on defense and to be the fourth option he does a great job. He’s a very efficient player.

Wilson Chandler- He was plagued by injury last season but when he’s healthy he’s a top option on offense and he’s a great wing defender and can also guard the four. He’s also very athletic to of had injuries in the past. He’s a work horse and a very reliable player.

Danilo Gallinari- Three Point Specialist, 6’10’ with a lot of heart. He spent all summer trying to improve his game and to also gain the organization’s trust. I’d say he’s done a good job of that. He spent the summer studying players similar to him. Players such as Larry Bird and Dirk Nowitzki. He would spend hours and hours just studying tapes of players past and present that have similar skills as him

Raymond Felton- He’s having a breakout year. I knew he would have his time with some organization somewhere. I don’t think Larry Brown in Charlotte was using him the right way. Felton is an uptempo guard who loves to get out in the open court. Playing for Mike D’antoni he has a chance to show his true potential. As we saw this year he almost made the all-star team. But in a guard strong league where just about every team has a great point guard it makes the voting that much harder. He arguable should have made the team.

***IF CARMELO ANTHONY REALLY WANTS TO CONTEND AND PLAY WITH THE BEST PLAYERS HE CAN POSSIBLY PLAY WITH HE NEEDS TO JUST EITHER STAY WITH DENVER OR IF HE GETS TRADED HE NEEDS TO LEAVE THE EXTENSION ON THE TABLE AND JUST SIGN WITH THE KNICKS DURING THE FREE AGENCY PERIOD.***
